The Blair Witch Project - Burkittsville, Maryland

Spend the night in the Black Hills Forest!

The Blair Witch Project revolutionized filmmaking with a heart-stopping story and a brilliant marketing plan.  By the time the film was released on July 30, 1999, the hype had reached a fever pitch and the film exploded with record-breaking box office numbers.

You'll visit the town of Burkittsville on this tour, then see all of the interview-based locations from the film.  We'll show you every place where the film was shot, before heading into the woods that Heather, Mike and Josh traveled through.  Yes, we'll even craft a few stickmen with you - there are still several dozen of them hanging in the forest.

At the end of the day, we'll watch The Blair Witch Project in the middle of the woods.  We can't guarantee that Elly Kedward will join you for the movie.,...but she's always there, watching.

In the morning, a chartered bus will pick everyone up at the hotel and begin the tour.  The schedule continues as follows;

8:30 a.m. - Bus pickup at the hotel

9 a.m. - Burkittsville cemetery, and the town's Welcome sign.

10 a.m. - In-town locations where the filmmakers interviewed local residents.

1 p.m. - Seneca Creek State Park, where we will see the most famous locations.  You'll see Coffin Rock, the fisherman's spot, and you'll even build your own stickman (there are still stickmen hanging in the woods).

6 p.m. - The bus will return you to your cars, and we will caravan to Patapsco State Park

8 p.m. - Meetup at the Terror Trips camping spot to watch "The Blair Witch Project" in the woods

Sunday, September 26th, 2022

A free extention of the tour - we'll caravan to the site of the old Parr house, where Heather and Mike met their deaths.  The Parr house no longer stands, a victim of Hurricane Sandy.  However, several pieces of the foundation are still there, and you are welcome to take a piece home with you.  We can not guarantee that the witch won't follow you home if you take a piece with you.
